Artist Brew Day is back with 1-1 advice sessions that are sure to get you thinking about your creative practice.
Our first round of 1-1s are in February and delivered in association with Dangerous To Know theatre company as part of their Make It project. Dangerous To Know is a theatre company rooted in the North of England, Make It continues the company’s commitment to staging urgent, politically resonant stories that amplify voices too often unheard. Dangerous To Know’s work dissects long-accepted attitudes to expose and challenge modern myths surrounding work, worth and womanhood.
Our second round of 1-1s are in May with our Co-creative Directors Rachel and Sarah.
Where did Artist Brew Day begin?
Built on the concept that mentoring and advice occurs when emerging artists approach established artists ‘for a brew’, several years ago we flipped this by inviting artists into our office for free advice. We are so thankful to all the artists who have helped us that we wanted to pay it forward to others one advice session and workshop at a time.
Have a chat with Sarah to discuss fundraising, producing, making, access or facilitation. Sarah Emmott is the Co-Creative Director of Art with Heart with nearly 20 years of experience as a producer, writer, performer and facilitator. She is the lead fundraiser for AwH and has gained funding from from public, private and crowd sourced funding sources. As a neurodivergent, working class, queer woman, Sarah brings her own lived experience to the work she does and is passionate about the grant funding process being more accessible.

Our February advice sessions are presented in association with Dangerous To Know’s Make It.
Following the OFFIE-commended On Me, writer Caroline Lamb returns with Make It – a sharp, intimate new play exploring ambition, bodily autonomy and the impossible choices placed on women at the point of success.
Make It follows Gina, a fiercely talented sculptor whose long-awaited big break finally arrives – just as she discovers she’s unexpectedly pregnant. With no room for deferral and a crumbling support system, Gina is forced to confront a brutal question: can she have both a career and a child, or must she choose?
Set against the pressures of the contemporary arts industry, Make It interrogates who is allowed to succeed, at what cost, and what happens when life refuses to wait for the “right moment”.
Book your tickets to watch Make It here.
